I spent somewhere around $250 on tolls on our last trip. The thing I noticed while exploring the east coast were the toll roads. Tappanzee bridge is $24.75 towing 4 down, Newburgh bridge is $10.00 towing 4 down. on I95 early in the morning or W/E's, returning is I81 to I84 over the Newburg bridge I think the toll is about $5.00.There is no toll on the GWB west/south bound. I live in Ct and what I do is take the George Washington bridge leaving Ct. Traveling to New England or to points East there is a toll. Crossing the Tappan Zee Bridge leaving New England from points East there is NO toll. There is some confusion regarding direction as I87 South is also I287 East and I87 North is also I287 West. on the coast.this is a much nicer ride than the disaster around bridgeport/new haven Take rt 84 out of scranton pa toll on bridge is less than $10 stay on 84 then go south on 9 before you get to hartford stay on 9 to end and your on 95 at saybrook ct.
